Michelle Z. Lizaso, CPA

Michelle Z. Lizaso, CPA, is a Partner with extensive expertise in government and nonprofit accounting and auditing, specializing in internal audits of county departments, financial reporting, and compliance testing. She brings 16 years of public accounting experience to her role and earned her B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from San Diego State University in 2007.

Michelle has served as the in-charge and technical lead for numerous school district and JPA audits, including engagements for Burton School District, Lemoore Union High School District, Manteca Unified School District, and JPAs such as SIRMA II, SIRMA III, ACSIG, and NCReLIEF. Her background also includes three years with the County of Tulare Auditor Controller’s Office and six years at a CPA firm performing nonprofit audits. Throughout her career, Michelle has developed extensive experience in planning, executing, and supervising complex audits across governmental, nonprofit, and educational entities. She combines strong technical expertise with proven leadership in managing education and JPA audits, helping clients achieve reliable, accurate, and high-quality audit results while maintaining compliance.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, and baking, and she is an active member of both CalCPA and the AICPA.
